Wartime Service:

His Combat History book states that he was in Battery B, 344th Field Artillery Battalion, landed on Utah beach at Normandy D+2, earned five battle stars for action in France, Germany, Luxembourg, and Belgium, and also earned a Bronze Star Medal. He was honorably discharged as a staff sergeant.

Personal Notes:

Beltran B. "Cisco" Sedillo has been selected to the All-Time Belen High School football team as quarterback. He played in the first New Mexico North-South All-Star Football game and years later coached in the 1954 NM North-South Basketball game. He attended New Mexico Highlands University, playing all three major sports, was president of Alpha Zeta Iota Fraternity, listed in Who's Who in Greek Organizations in 1947, Who's Who Among Colleges and Universites in 1946 and 1947, was Student Body president in 1947, graduated in 1948 and eaned a Master's Degree in 1951. As a high school coach, he coached all three major sports, leading the Los Lunas High School Baseball Team and the school to their first state championship. He was a scout for the Cincinnati Reds professional baseball team, but continued teaching high school business classes and coaching until he died of a heart attack in 1976.
