Posted - 11/16/2009 : 12:22:27 Norm Richards, Asst. Historian for the 90th Division Association and son of Clyde Richards, 358/D will be taking another tour group to follow the 90th's route.
The tour will begin on June 2, 2010 with a flight to London. The group will cross the English Channel on the 4th, landing in Cherbourg.
There will be three nights at our host families in Periers, visits to many 90th Division battlesites and monuments ( Hill 122, Picauville, Chef DuPont, Gourbesville, Beau Coudray, Seves Island, etc.). Visits to Pegasus Bridge, the Caen Museum and Arromanches.
On June 9th the group will travel to Mayenne for a two-day commemoration of the 90th's battle there in August, 1944.
By noon on the 10th the group will travel directly to the German border near Saabrucken, on the way to Flossenburg Concentration Camp, where there will be a ceremony commemorating the 90th's liberation of the camp in April, 1945. The incredible Merker's Mine will be visited on either the 13th or 14th, followed by one night in Bastogne, then on to Thionville for the Moselle Commemoration June 15-20.
