My uncle, Danial Tadlock of Rapid City, South Dakota passed away Monday, 9 April, 2007. Dan was a member of the South Dakota Army National Guard prior to joining the 90th Division and shipping out for Europe. He served through Europe and into Germany where he was severely wounded during an action to take a small town. For this he was awarded the Purple Heart and the Bronze Star.
Danial returned home to South Dakota after the war and married his sweetheart, known to family and friends as "Honey," who had waited four years anxiously for his return. They were happily married for over 60 years.
Danial will be laid to honored rest among a company of heroes at the South Dakota National Cemetery West of Rapid City, S.D. following services Friday, 12 April, 2007.
Another of the "Greatest Generation" has answered his final roll call and rejoins his four WWII veteran brothers. |
