I am trying to find out more info on my father's service during WWII. My father was William Gordon Toney, Jr. On his DD-214 in the Summery of Military Occupations it states that he was a Communications Chief. He was incharged of 15 men and also served with the 559th Antiaircraft Aetilliary Battalion in the European Theater of Operations. On his Enlisted Record and Report of Separation in box 6 it states Co. G. 355th or 356th, it is hard to read. It also states that he served in Northern France, Rhineland and Central Europe. Can anyone steer me in the right direction on finding more info on his unit?
Clyde, Thank you so so much! I am still learning. I joined the Ladies Aux. to the VFW in honor of my father. I lost him at the age of 16. I will be 50 in August. I loved and love my father today! Is there anyone else that anyone can help me?
