Passed away on the 17th July 2009 Was laid to rest on the 10th August 2009 at Arlington National Cemetery; 36 Sherman Lane
I am his granddaughter; I knew of his service from the stories he would share with me and from the stories from my mother and uncle.
To all that have lost loved ones in this circle, it is a horrible loss. My grandfather meant the world to me. Through his service and how that shaped him, it made him a tremendous role model and a supreme conscious when morally conflicted. To this day and forever I have an undying love for him.
Thank-you for providing more insight into his service.
My apologies for not including this before, but while at the service my mother informed me that my grandfather was the last surviving TO. I was just wondering if someone here could confirm/deny this for me. Your help would be greatly appreciated. Learning more about his service and history helps greatly in dealing with the tremendous loss and void left in my heart.
He is not the "last surviving TO"....there are still thousands of TO's that survive. I have no idea what she is referring to. Norm Richards Asst. Historian - 90th Division Association
